General scope

  • Aluminum conductor-XLPE insulation-Low voltage Aerial bundled cable are used for overhead power transmission, distribution, voltage 0,6 /1 kV
  • Permitted long- term working temperature is 80OC
  • Permitted maximum short-circuit temperature is 250OC for 5s max
  •  AS3560-91 : Electric cables –XLPE insulated – Aerial bundled – for working voltages up to and including 0,6/1 kV
 
Technical characteristics of LV-ABC
             
Description:
LV-ABC shall have the following characteristics:
Type : self-supported , phase and neutral cores have the same cross-sectional area.
Insulation : XLPE insulation, maximum tensile stress that can be transmitted through XLPE Insulation at strain clamp is 40 Mpa.
Type of conductor: The alluminum conductor shall be stranded , circular compacted.
Material of conductor : Alluminum with minimum tensile stress is 140 MPa.      
 Metre marking of cable: Neutral core in each cable length shall be sequentially marked, numerically, at 1 m interval. The metre marking shall be limited to 6 digits and any drum lenhth may start at any integral number. The cable shall be wond on the drum with the lowest number at the drum barrel end.         
Identification of cores:
 Cores shall be indentified by one of the following methods:
  • Continuous , longitudial raised ribs.
  • Whites arabic numerals along the cable, at interval < 100mm.
  • 3 colour strip 
  • Two-core cable:
* Phase A: 1 rib - number 1- 3 Blue strip
* Neutral : No ribs - number 0 - No strip
  • Three- core cable:
*Phase A: 1 rib - number 1 - 3 Blue strip
* Phase B : 2 ribs - number 2 - 3 Yellow strip  
* Neutral : No ribs - number 0 - No strip
  • Four – core cable
*Phase A : 1 rib - number 1 - 3 Blue strip
* Phase B : 2 ribs - number 2 - 3 Yellow strip 
* Phase C : 3 ribs - number 3 - 3 Red strip
* Neutral: No ribs - number 0- No strip
